Today's exploring included Ashland, the Henry Clay mansion in downtown Lexington. Wow! What an awesome property! The main house and most of the outbuildings are still intact and being preserved by the state. And the inside of the house is fully preserved and furnished, and with mostly original family items.

Next we toured Waveland, also in downtown Lexington. This house was built by Daniel Bryan, who was a nephew to Daniel Boone. This house belongs to the University of Kentucky and they use it as a learning farm. It also has some of the original outbuildings, including some slave quarters, and a few original family items inside the home.
