Friday, June 21st - It was supposed to be a sunny day, so we decided to take advantage of that and drove up to Clingman's Dome. Wow! What a drive! And a very popular destination! We were almost back to Cherokee when we spotted some elk grazing in a field, so we stopped to try to take pictures of them.
Then we stopped at the Mountain Farm to walk General, and saw some elk near that area as well, kind of hanging out and feeding right near the road. When we left the museum area, we did spot one elk still standing right beside the road chewing on a tree branch.
That was really awesome! On the way back to the campground, we stopped in Cherokee and had some Mexican food for dinner at Rancho Viejo. Yum!
