Wednesday, June 12th -- On our first adventure day, we decided to travel some of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the area. Cherokee is actually where the Blue Ridge Parkway ends at Mile Post 469 as it butts right up against Hwy 441 going thru the Smokey Mountains. We went up as high as Lickstone Ridge (Elevation 5150) where we saw an Elk grazing on the side of the road.
Then we headed back down to the end/bottom. LOL.

After that, since General hadn't had much of a walk, we decided to check out the Mountain Farm Museum, which is run by the National Park Service (Yes, they had stamps for our Passport book! Yea!) and free to visit. Ed chose to walk General down the River Trail, and I toured the farm buildings. It was a complete farm, including an outhouse (LOL), and very interesting to tour!
