Wednesday, July 10th -- Brings us to another travel day. Our drive to Cumberland Gap Wilderness Drive Campground went very well. We took 11E/321 to Jonesborough, then Route 354 toward Johnson City, then I26 north into Virginia, then Highway 58 all the way to the campground.
Highway 58 had a couple of steep hills to get over, and some 2-lane roads, but nothing terrible to deal with.

When we got to the campground (a national park), they ask you to go ahead and get set up in your spot, then go back to the office and self-register and pay. The office is almost always closed, so there is a pole in front of the office that has the registration envelopes in it. Fill it out, insert your money, then stick the envelope in the slot on the box on the pole.
After we got set up and registered, we went out to dinner at a nearby Gondolier Italian Restaurant. The food was awesome, and dinner costed less than $30.
We took our showers when we got back, and since the campground only provides electric, and potted water for your tank, we showered in the bathhouse, and it was awesome. They have 2 showers in the bathhouse, both separate rooms with locks, and included a huge space, adjustable water temperature, bench and hooks for all your stuff. It was awesome!!
