Monday, July 15th -- Ed got going early and wanted to take General on the Boone Trail, which was about 2 miles on fairly even ground, leaving from the Daniel Boone Parking and Exhibit Area where I dropped them off, and running towards the campground. I would pick him up at the campground trail parking lot in about 45 minutes.
They had an awesome time. Ed said that about halfway thru the hike, General broke out in a happy dance, and just started running in circles. LOL.
When they were finished, we decided to go out for breakfast, since he hadn't eaten before he left. So we ate at Cracker Barrel -- country fried steak... YUM! LOL.
Then we went to the picnic area for a little bit to let General play in the water. He found a very large stick that he was intent on tackling!
Then we decided to go up to the Pinnacle Overlook again, since Ed had been there, but I hadn't. The road was very curvy and very steep. Wow! But the view was fantastic. I could see the Tri-State Peak, where Ed had hiked to, and the Historic Cumberland Gap area. Looking straight down, we could see the small town of Cumberland Gap. And straight ahead, we could see Harrogate TN. Ed guessed that off in the far distance would be the Smokey Mountains, near Gatlinburg. There is also a marker on the path getting out to the Overlook that shows the Kentucky/Virginia state line.

That evening, I worked hard to finish up the next Youtube video, and got it all ready to go, but was having trouble uploading it to Youtube, so I drove towards town, hoping to get a better cell signal, which didn't happen. But I Googled restaurants offering wifi, and found McDonald's actually has the best rated wifi service, so I drove there and had the video uploaded within about 15 minutes. Awesome!
When I got back, we were sitting at our dining room table when a deer walked past the window.
And a little bit later, when Ed took General for a walk, they found the deer again. And General, instead of barking and chasing the deer (which would have been his normal behavior), sat down and just watched it! Yes, Virginia, miracles do happen!
