Thursday, November 21, 2019 -- This travel day takes us from Whitney, Texas (near Waco) to Hords Creek Lake Campground in Coleman, Texas!

Most of the land in this area is for cattle. The acreage in the picture below has recently been thinned of the shrubs, probably within the last couple years. We have seen acreage where the shrubs were very thick, and I could see the cattle wandering around and wondered how they found anything to eat. We have also seen some acreage where they were actively thinning the shrubs and I could see dirt. Very interesting! Always learning!
Lots of Mistletoe in this area, as well! Not sure exactly why, but Mistletoe abounds in central Texas. And these bunches are huge! About 2 feet in diameter!
Our campsite at Hords Creek Lake was beautiful, and the landscape was really starting to change. There was grass, trees and bushes, as usual, but also some cactus and yucca. I so badly wanted to dig up some of the yucca and make yucca root fries! But I was good, I didn't do it. LOL. We also had deer in the park again, and bunches of them!
