Precious Moments Chapel & Lunch at the Woodshed!

Tuesday, October 15 -- We visited the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, MO, and WOW! What an awesome place! 

The Precious Moments figurine creator, Samuel Butcher, had this visitor center and chapel built as a thanks to God for all the blessings he had received in his life, and all the painting was completed by Samuel himself.

Bronze Precious Moments statues adorn the beautifully manicured gardens.

The Visitor Center and Cafe area have this storybook theme!

The entrance to the Chapel is very ornate!

The inside of the Chapel is breathtaking, and features scenes from the Bible painted by Mr. Butcher himself, as well as important people in his life which he painted as if they were in Heaven!

And this scene is in the front yard. We thought this was pretty cool!

Next we visited the Civil War Museum in downtown Carthage. A small museum, but free, and it has some really great displays!

We finished the afternoon with lunch at the Woodshed, which is part of, and in the back of, Cherry's Art Emporium on the Square. Our sandwiches were awesome, and we highly recommend this place!
