Overview of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge

​June 27th -- It has been a couple of days since General has had a good walk, so Ed found a trail very close to downtown Gatlinburg that looked easy and was pet friendly. We have been having trouble finding pet friendly areas to walk him. But this was a 2 mile trail (one way) and next to a river, so he got a good walk and was able to get his feet wet as well.

After that, we drove around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge a little bit to see if we could find anything we wanted to explore further. We did get a couple of ideas. While Gatlinburg looks much like any smaller town, with a city center that contains shops and restaurants and some attractions, Pigeon Forge would be the equivalent to urban sprawl outside the city. But Pigeon Forge has a TON of attractions! Nobody can ever come here and be bored. There is just too much to do. But of course, all of that takes money, so that needs to be taken into consideration. ​We had lunch at Long John Silvers's since we hadn't seen one of those restaurants in many years. Then off to Walmart to get us each some new sneakers (much needed), then picked up some groceries and headed home. Rain came shortly after that.
