Off to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg!

​June 24th -- We left early (10am) from Cherokee NC and arrived at our new campsite in Pigeon Forge TN around 1:30pm. Road construction and a wrong turn made a 2 hour drive 3.5 hours. Our travels over the Smokey Mountains went very well. But the wrong turns put us once again on curvy and steep roads. LOL. 

The green circle below was our wrong turn and took us on a very treacherous route (Little Cove Road). ​Cell signal was weak, so when the wrong turns happened, we were unable to correct them. LOL.

​Our new campsite was a backwards pull-thru site, which we had never experienced before. We were to pull straight into the site, and then use the surrounding area to pull the truck back out to the road. Not bad at all getting in, although we are very apprehensive about how we will get back out of here. I imagine we will have to back it out to the road.

​After we got set up in our new site, we decided to go out for dinner. We chose an "all you can eat" place in Pigeon Forge, but there was a little twist. At Mama's Farmhouse, they provide 3 main entrees, and you can choose 4 out of the 8 side dishes. Then they bring all this food to your table, in small servings. And if you want any more of anything, they will bring it out for you, until you are finished. Very good, home cooked food, and highly recommended. 

​And then back home to a wonderful sunset!
