After the driving tour, we stopped on the side of the road to let General play in the creek and walk around for a bit, since Cades Cove was not pet friendly.
We had supper at the Carriage House Restaurant in Townsend. The spaghetti dinner was fantastic, with homemade meat sauce. After supper, we toured the Great Smokey Mountains Heritage Museum, which had about a dozen older buildings in its backyard that it had moved to that location and was working to preserve.
And their inside displays included an exhibit on early American Indian finds nearby from an archaeological dig. Very good information and well worth the price of admission!
After we got home and watched the sunset from our patio, we then tried to capture lightning bugs on camera or video, and weren't successful. Anybody know why that is? LOL.
