Saturday, July 27th -- We headed toward Winchester with the intention of visiting the Bluegrass Heritage Museum, and checking out the downtown area. But on the way, we decided to head towards the distilleries on the other side of town and tour one of those, since they may not be open over the weekend.
Friday, July 26th -- Today we headed off to Ward Hall, which is north of Lexington, only to find that it wasn't open. When I checked their website, it says they are only open the first two weekends of each month.
Wednesday, July 24th -- Today we went exploring, and started with the nearby White Hall Mansion. Built by Green Clay in 1798, and later owned by his son Cassius, the house was well taken care of for many years, until Cassius passed away and it fell into disrepair and eventually ended up being gifted to the state, who restored it and is now preserving it. What an awesome house!
Thursday, July 25th -- The original Fort Boonesborough settlement area is right next to the campground, so Ed explored that on his morning walk with General.
