Wednesday, November 6, 2019 -- Today we headed toward Lake Charles, then west over the big bridge to the town of Sulphur, where we got our oil changed before heading south!
On our drive south, we passed by swamp lands...
and small lakes...
and canals next to the side of the road. It was a very pleasant drive, and reminded us very much of home!

We stopped at the Sabine Wildlife Refuge, which is one of several refuges in the southern Louisiana area.

Holly Beach reminded us very much of our beloved Outer Banks and it made us so homesick!
General had a ton of fun playing in the water... and the sand!
Even the houses, built up on pilings, reminded us of home!
That evening, when we took General out for his last pee, we ran across this little critter. Not quite sure what it was, because the lighting was really bad, and it wouldn't let us get very close. But we are guessing it may have been an Armadillo! The first one we have seen!
