Friday, September 13th -- We headed from Pierre SD to the Badlands, to our campground in Interior SD. We decided to come in the back way because the road from I90 south to Interior just didn't look good to us. But, as it turns out, there were trade offs in both directions. Coming in on the secondary highways, we ran into a major road construction zone that wasn't really fit to be hauling a trailer thru. And then as we got closer to the Badlands, the road got very bumpy. The road coming in from the north from I90 also had some very bumpy roads and sharp turns and grades. So neither route was all that great. But the scenery on the route we took was fantastic!

We started seeing the Badlands rock formations about an hour before we got to the campground!
Our campground at Badlands Interior Campground was only about 2 miles from the southern park entrance, and this was our view! We were very excited to start exploring the area!
