So back on the internet, we found the North Beach Access, and decided to give that one a try. We were very pleasantly surprised to find it was indeed pet friendly, and also remote enough that there were much fewer people there than at the 1st Street beach.

We talked to them for about an hour. We shared what we were up to, and they shared places to visit in the Upper Peninsula. One of the ladies very much enjoyed playing with General, and she started throwing a stick in the water for him to fetch.
We all had a great time!
