Wednesday, August 21st -- This travel day takes us South on State Road 35, which was an awesome road. Shortly before we crossed the Michigan/Wisconsin State Line, we turned onto US Hwy 41. A little ways outside of Green Bay, we took County Road S west until we hit State Road 29, which took us almost all the way to Wausau, with the exception of a small section of I-39 right at the end.
Once again, we had awesome views of Lake MIchigan for the first part of our trip.
About half-way thru our trip, we stopped at a Shell/Arby's Truck Stop to grab something to eat, and we weren't surprised to see all the different cheeses for sale. But we WERE surprised to see cheese curds, which we had never heard of before. We put that on the top of our list to try while we were in town.

Our campsite at Marathon Park was pretty awesome! And only $25 per night for electric and water.
Marathon Park is a 65-acre county park, almost right downtown Wausau. But it includes about 25 campsites, walking trails, an ampitheater, a splash park and small train for kids, a concession stand selling hot dogs, soft pretzels and ice cream, their county fair buildings, and a historic little red schoolhouse.
It's really a pretty awesome place, and felt perfectly safe (there were Sheriff cars patrolling on a regular basis).
