We left Raccoon Holler Campground on Monday, May 27th and headed for Grandfather Campground, about 10 miles south of Boone, NC. We traveled on the Blue Ridge Parkway for most of the trip, until I realized our Garmin was once again giving us bad route information (it was trying to direct us down a dirt road, with our trailer in tow). LOL. Yeah, right.

So we re-routed using Google on my phone, and ended up yet still again on Hwy 221, this time going downhill. Did I say downhill? I meant seriously downhill, and on very curvy roads. ​
Then when we got on the last stretch of road before the campground, it had a steep downhill grade as well, and we had to stop on that downhill to enter the campground. Wow! Luckily the truck and trailer held up well. But Ed did some research and decided to make some minor adjustments to the trailer brake that was installed in our truck. He felt the trailer was not doing as much work as it should have been for stopping. ​
So, we got set up at Grandfather Campground, which by the way was the most expensive campground we have stayed at so far, and we decided right away that we weren't going to do a campground review on this one, just because we couldn't really think of anything good to say about it. Let's just leave it at that.

But we did put General's sneakers on him, and took him down into the creek to play around for awhile. It was his first time in water with rocks, and it took him some getting used to. But seeing him splash around with a big smile on his face made it all worth while!
