We left Grandfather Campground on Monday, June 3rd, for Rutledge RV Resort south of Asheville. We started out on the Blue Ridge Parkway again, but when the roads starting to get curvier, we decided to say goodbye to the Parkway and headed for the Interstate.
The road down from the Parkway (did you guess it, Highway 221...again!) was very steep and very curvy, but we were soon at the bottom and on the interstate and heading west.
Then we pulled into our site and found all the wonderful amenities we had been missing in the last campground. And our first pool! Rutledge was very nice, and very quiet. And conveniently located to everything we could possibly ever want or need. LOL.

Our first adventure day, Tuesday, June 4th, we decided to visit the North Carolina Arboretum, and we had a great time! And General was allowed to go with us. We walked around the gardens, which included a really awesome model railroad, and they also had several walking trails on the grounds, so we chose the easiest one and headed out thru the woods... and almost got lost! LOL. The Arboretum is free to visit, and we highly recommend it!
