Saturday, October 12th -- We woke up in the morning to this flock of ducks in the lake close to the shore! I don't believe we have ever seen so many ducks in one place before!
Since Council Grove has over 25 historical sites in the town and surrounding area, we decided to explore some of those. First was the Hermit's Cave.

They serve historical reproduction foods here, and from several countries! Take a look at this menu!
I chose the Scotch-Irish with Colcannon, and Ed chose the German Bratwurst. Both meals were awesome! This restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, who saved this building from demolition by forming a preservation foundation to keep it going and open to the public. They have notebooks of historical articles from the area, and the downstairs area has even more historical information on the walls, and a larger seating area for large parties.
What an awesome place! Highly recommended!
