Sunday, October 6th -- The first attraction on our list was the Santa Fe Trail Tracks, which were about half-way between the campground and Dodge City.
Unfortunately, we weren't really able to see anything, because the tracks were quite some ways away, on the other side of a fence, on private property.
The low spot in the above picture is an irrigation canal that went on for several miles. The wagon tracks, we think, are at the crest of the hill behind the canal.
Next on our list was Longhorns! This was exciting! Another animal we have never seen before! What awesome animals! This one walked right over to where I was standing by the fence.

They have a few very nice statues downtown. Doc Holliday is in front of the train, near the Visitor Center.
James Arness (Marshall Matt Dillon from Gunsmoke TV Show) is in front of the Visitor Center. We have no idea why General was so taken with the hands on the statue. LOL. But he wasn't even leaning against the statue (we would never let him do that). He just kind of lifted himself upright. This little buddy has some strong back legs! LOL.

And then Wyatt Earp is a couple blocks down the main street.
They also have several of these custom "stars" embedded into the sidewalks throughout the
6-8 block downtown area. It was alot of fun trying to find them all as we wandered around!
And they also have these custom banners on some of the light posts in the downtown area as well. Very artistic! All metal!
