Friday, November 15, 2019 (continued) -- We headed to the Davey Crockett Spring, and found a small park!
Here we found the Strode Cabin, which had been built in the 1850s and was eventually brought to this location and restored!
And here is a marker for the location of the Davey Crockett Spring, although the water fountain does not work, and we couldn't find any source of water nearby. LOL.

Google noted a county museum in the railroad depot building right across the street, so we headed over there to find it was closed. But there was a park area right there, so we walked General around for a little while. But then I looked down at the ground and saw pecans! So I started picking up as many as I could find that looked like they weren't rotten! LOL. Turns out pecan trees grow wild in this area of Texas. We started finding them all over after that! Back at Salmon Lake Park, they were getting ready for a big weekend, since this was the site of a custom car show. They brought out this train for the children to ride around on!
That evening, I shelled the pecans I had picked up in town, and got almost a full cup! YUM!
