Tuesday, July 9th -- We headed toward Johnson City because there were 2 historical sites we wanted to take a look at. First was Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site. They had a complete homestead to view, with either a self-guided tour which does not allow you inside the buildings, or a guided tour which does take you thru the buildings.

Monday, July 8th -- We went to south Greeneville to get Ed's National Park Pass (senior pass). The nearest ranger station was about 10 miles away, so not terribly bad. Ed absolutely can't stand being referred to as a senior, but today, he was very proud and happy to get his Lifetime Senior Pass!!
Saturday, July 6th -- Miss Carolyn (campground owner) was offering a free spinning class for campground residents and I attended that. It was a 2-hour session, and I had a great time. It set my tooth even more to learn how to do that when I get back home.
Friday, July 5th -- We went to downtown Greeneville and checked out some historical sites further. We toured the President Andrew Johnson Museum which includes his Tailor's Shop, and his house where he lived.
Thursday, July 4th -- Happy Anniversary to us! 18 wonderful years and still going strong!!
We left fairly early for Rogersville to do some research work on a personal genealogy project. While in town, we decided to take at look at the old Amis Mill property. |
