WE DID IT!!
We are finally on the road! We left our hometown on Sunday, April 28th!! So... let's get you caught up on everything that has happened to get to this point.
Well, we need to back up to November, when the company we had both worked for for over 18 years was sold. Our previous boss wanted to retire, so he found a couple to purchase the business, and they agreed to keep us on. The business sold in November, and they started changing everything. And I mean everything! We were very unhappy there, and that's what made us start thinking that we should get out of there and do some traveling. So we started making plans. We filed for Ed's Social Security. And Ed was getting ready to give 2-weeks notice on February 18th, when the new bosses called us into a meeting and let us both go. Wow. Timing is everything.

We had 4 piles of things in our house. One pile to be donated, one pile for storage, one pile to go with us, and one pile for selling. We processed everything in the house, and at the same time were making upgrades and working on the trailer to get it ready to go. Continue reading below...

When we were sure we could be done by the end of the month, we gave notice to vacate our house which we rented, and on April 28th, we hit the road!!
We finally did it! We have been on the road for about 10 days now and are loving life! We are currently staying at Jordan Lake State Park near Raleigh, NC. More details on all our preparations, RV upgrades, campground review, and great things to see and do in this area in later posts.
