Monday, September 30th -- We woke up in the morning to find that the snow and low temperatures had followed us, and the place we were currently in would be getting snow that evening. So we decided that even though we had paid for two days, we would pack up and keep heading south.
We were both a little on edge about this move, because we knew it would be a long drive (6 hours), and because we didn't have reservations for a campsite when we got there. I tried very hard to find something economical, as always. But we ended up calling Pikes Peak RV Park and getting a spot there. NOT our preferred place, by any stretch!! You'll see why in just a minute. LOL. Our drive south got interesting as we started to see the Rocky Mountains!
We had to drive right thru the center of Denver to get to our location, which also did not make us happy. We are not big city people, and the traffic kind of freaks us out. We were also stuck at a standstill in Denver for about 1.5 hours due to an accident.

Here is a little glimpse of what Pikes Peak RV Park looks like.
And here was our campsite. The truck was kind of sticking out in the parking lot area, but we couldn't move it further back because it would have been right up against our trailer and our neighbors, with no way to walk around it. LOL. I guess the worst part was the $55 per day we paid for the site. The only good point we can think of was the location is wonderful for getting to the places we wanted to see easily!
