Garden of the Gods - Day 2!

Wednesday, October 2nd -- We just loved it so much there, that we had to go back. It is beautiful and beyond words!

Because we had only booked our RV site for 3 nights, and we were not able to extend, we were really trying to cram as much into every day as we could. So we went to Miramont Castle, and WOW, what an awesome story we have to share with you!

The lady selling tickets at the Castle also has a book for sale. She is the author of this book, and she explained that the story in this book came to her in a dream. But she wrote everything down, and then searched for an illustrator to draw the pictures. She found someone who was not interested in the money, but just wanted to be part of the project (she is getting royalty checks anyway). The illustrator drew some pictures that came into her head, and without realizing it, had included some things from bible verses in the drawings, and these are the seven secrets in the book. Margaret Johnson, the author, is actually Marguerite, a member of the royal family in Spain who defected to the United States when Mussolini took over that country. I have not yet tried to verify her story, but it was still very interesting to listen to her talk!! Ms. Johnson's book is available on Amazon, if you are interested. Below is an affiliate link.

In the evening, we went back to Garden of the Gods for more sunset pictures!

And we just happened to spot this herd of Big Horn Sheep in a small field. That was so awesome!!
