Another stop on the Laura Ingalls Wilder Highway

Tuesday, August 27th -- This travel day takes us to the Banks of Plum Creek, in Walnut Grove, MN. It was a fairly long travel day, but the roads in Minnesota were pretty good.

Leaving Pepin, we had to cross the MIssissippi River, and the views of the river as we drove along were awesome!

Our campsite at Plum Creek Campground was really great, shaded by trees, just the way I like it. At $23 a night, this campground is very popular with the locals, and it was full for the weekend.

Just a very short walk away was Lake Laura. 

And here is the sunset at the campground on our first night there. Beautiful!
