Monday, November 18, 2019 -- We left the house early to go explore Waco, Texas, which ended up being about an hour drive, but so worth it!
First on our list to visit was the Lee Lockwood Masonic Library and Museum, which is located in the Waco Scottish Rite Temple.
This place was amazing! Lee Lockwood did alot of very good things for both the Masonic Community, and his hometown!

The Library was awesome and HUGE! And not just Masonic books, but all kinds of books just like a regular library. I was very impressed with the history section!
The Museum area was amazing, and had alot of good information about the history of Freemasonry, as well as a bunch of great artifacts and collectibles!
The Meeting Room is generally not open to the public, but the Worthy Master came in just as we were leaving, so we went back in with him and he showed us the Meeting Room.
The Lee Lockwood Library & Museum is open to the public and free to tour. They also give guided tours, if anyone is in the building and available to do so. Another great place to see is the Texas State Lodge, which is also in Waco. The Worthy Master told us they have a much bigger museum there!

Next we took General for a walk in Cameron Park, which is right next to the Brazos River.
Then we checked out Proctor Springs, which is also in Cameron Park. Pretty amazing spring!

Also in Cameron Park is Jacob's Ladder. This was originally built for the houses on the upper level to access the river, but evolved from there. Now it's a beautiful and picturesque set of stairs climbing through the trees. Absolutely amazing!
And right beside Jacob's Ladder is this awesome double picnic area with a central fireplace/cooking hearth!
There were some other places we wanted to see in Waco, but the one hour drive to and from was a little much for us. So... while Lake Whitney was really beautiful, the location is not really conducive to exploring the Waco area.
