Heading to Quartzsite, Arizona!

Friday, December 13, 2019 — We got going as early as we could and started heading for Quartzsite!
This route was mostly interstates, and pretty good roads, but almost a 5 hour drive!

The land leaving Tucson was rolling hills, with some mountains here and there.

Did you ever wonder what happens to those cotton bails once they are all bound up? Still don’t know how they got them on this truck though! Some of these bails weigh about 3000 pounds!

The Hayden-Rhodes Aqueduct (brown line in center of photo below) takes water from Lake Havasu, on Arizona’s western border, 336 miles across Arizona to the Tucson area! Wow!

Got our Long-Term camping permit at La Posa South! The guy at the gatehouse just said “Park wherever you want”! LOL.

We chose a spot on the main road that had rocks laid out on both sides of it. Naively, we thought the Park Service did that to designate the spaces, and we were amazed at how much room they give!
We thought the park service laid out these rocks to designate campsites, but found out later other campers did it
Our view of the wash right behind us, and the mountains off in the distance! Yup, we are gonna like it here! After being packed in at campgrounds for the previous 9 months, this suited us just right!
