Hanging Out in Quartzsite, Arizona

Wednesday, January 1, 2020 — I took General for a walk around the campground, and was very surprised by what I found!
Behind our campsite, there are about 4-5 small washes to walk thru, with trailers parked all over. Then you come across a really BIG wash. The trailers can’t get thru the big wash, so it effectively makes the eastern border to the campground! And after that, it’s just wide open desert.

Thursday, January 2, 2020 — The Tyson Wells Marketplace area also has a bunch of food vendors, so we decided to go there for lunch and see what we could find!

Saturday, January 4, 2020 — Roadie the Roadrunner stopped by to see us again today!
Roadie the Roadrunner stopped in at our campsite to say Hello
So… the fridge was still not working, and we tried to call Miller RV Repair back out, but he wasn’t returning our calls. Turns out he was stuck on a big job up in Parker, with an irate client, and just couldn’t get back here. So… Ed Youtubed our problem, and found what he thought would be the best solution and procedure for us to follow. But it meant taking the fridge out of the wall so he could get to the tube on the back. It was very heavy and hard to move, but we got it pulled out onto some storage tubs so he could work on it.
Pulled out the refrigerator to try to get it fixed
On the back of the fridge is a large metal tube (left in photo above), which has a hole in the top of it (see pic below). The flame from below moves warm air up thru this tube, but Ed felt it was clogged with carbon, since the burner hadn’t been working properly since we left home. He was right! Look at all the carbon he got out of it!
Cleaned out the soot and fridge works fine now
So he cleaned out this tube really good, then had to reclean the parts on the bottom rear area that he had already cleaned, trying to get this problem solved. We got everything put back together (no small feat), and the fridge has worked great ever since! Problem finally solved!! It’s been quite an education, but we really think its awesome that these fridges are so easy to fix! They can run forever, as long as they don’t get an ammonia leak in the system, and all you have to do is keep them clean!

Mark Miller came out to check on us the next day, and fixed the remaining small leak in our roof.

Ed tells everyone he is GPS challenged, and can’t find his way home without a landmark. So he picked this flag. I think it did the trick, because there is not another one here like it! LOL.

Sunday, January 5, 2020 — And now for something totally stupid! LOL. I needed to run into town, so I just jumped in the truck and took off. Turns out, the electric plug for the trailer was still plugged into the generator, which was sitting in the back of the truck, with the tailgate down. Ed heard a huge noise inside the trailer, and came running after me, but I was far enough away that I didn’t hear him screaming. He called my cell phone, and I got turned around and went back to the campsite. Ed checked the generator, and it was fine. And thank our Lord, the cable that plugs into the trailer got tied in a knot in its little cubby area, so the cable didn’t get pulled out of the fuse box area!
My own stupidity gratefully did not cause any damages
