First Quartzsite Rainstorm & RC Air Show!

Monday, February 10, 2020 -- There's rain coming!

We were actually quite nervous about this. We had heard people say that flash flooding was possible in this area, especially if you are parked too close to a wash! How close is too close?

This rain ended up not being very bad at all! And it was very interesting to watch everything happen. After the rain started falling, it took some time before it showed up in the wash. But when we started to see it coming thru, it got deeper very quickly! And its not just the water coming down from the mountains. We would see little streams form in the parking areas, and it all flows into the nearest wash.

Wednesday, February 12, 2020 -- General REALLY loves sitting outside! He would stay out there almost all day long, if we let him!

Saturday, February 15, 2020 -- We took General to the Dog Park, and noticed they were having a big RC air show right next door, so Ed walked over to check it out!

For most of these RC airplanes, you need to remove the wings to get it in the bed of a pickup truck!

Am I seeing double? LOL.

Some of these planes cost thousands of dollars! But pretty awesome!

We could see them flying from the Dog Park, which was actually a better viewing area than right there at the RC airfield, because we didn't need to look straight up. They fly loopty loops, and then fly straight up until the engine starts to die, and then bring it back around. Some pretty talented folks!

Monday, February 17, 2020 -- The very beginnings of a Desert in Bloom! These flowers were so tiny, and came up in between the rocks around the bushes!
